* It's always best to have extra copies of these things regardless, but especially when you've traveling overseas.

* There is a requirement for your passport to be good 6 months past your return date home. So, always check your passport renewal dates as it is a 10 - 13 week turnaround time to get one if you need it for an upcoming trip.

IMPORTANT Dates

MICHELIN RESTAURANT Reservations

A lot of the Michelin restaurants in Europe have an online reservation system. A lot have their own websites w/ English translation. They open their online booking about 3 months in advance.

You can also book your hotel reservations way in advance, especially if they are boutique hotels. Ask the concierge of the hotels you stay in to make activity / restaurant reservations way before you even arrive.

TAX Refunds

If you spend more than $100 at any store + you don't live in the EU, you get a 12% tax refund back when you leave the EU. The more you spend, the more you get back.

All you have to do is show your passport, they will process documents at the register you're shopping at + give you an envelope that you can drop off at customs at the airport.

From there, you will get a 12% refund back in about 3-6 weeks since you are a foreigner.
